OK, here goes. I will start my rant thusly... I live near the Willow Grove Naval Air Station... which is now closed thanks to the powers that be in Washington. And the idiots in Horsham... well, they want a "town center" or "corporate park" in the middle of it, and in two of the three plans, want to rip up the runway.
Well, whoever's idea it is to rip up the runway and still propose to make any money, good luck with that. It's at least 12 feet deep. And no one has thought of landing supplies or evacuating people in the event of a national or natural catastrophe. Didn't we just have an earthquake and a hurricane? HELLO!
And whoever's idea it is to put a corporate park... well take a ride to Fort Washington, dimwit. Most of the office space is empty or for lease. Hello!!! You could have had Teva there... which would have brought jobs and revenue to the area. But no. You chased them out, you stupid, stupid people. How much money do you think the 'town center' will bring in? It will be popular at first then will flatten out just the same as most new places do.
Hey, whoever's idea this one is... take a ride north on 611 for a few miles... What, not enough places to shop? Get real.
Maybe the Federal Bureau of Prisons should put an airlift stop there with a temporary holding facility for prisoners... or a truck stop which would generate revenue and be convenient as its so close to the turnpike. But wait, this would make noise and disturb the same residents who didn't like airplane noise, yet moved into the neighborhood of an Air Station which had existed way way before THEY did.
